I ran across this video that sounds a lot like me. It talks about different methods to produce stardates in the present.
There were a few frames in season 3 of Discovery showing some fine print which , if you flip and zoom in freeze frame, shows the stardate 29141429.1. This is several orders of magnitude greater than any other stardate in Star Trek, and contradicts stardates given in other episodes. Probably it’s just a production error, maybe a placeholder that never got replaced. The video presents a theory that it ties together all the other stardates and presents a formula for converting any date into a similar stardate.
Now I’m going to have to make a calculator.
